Church's songs are as straightforward as he is. His is music that looks its listener in the eye and speaks plainly about the human condition.
And with Josh Thompson, working-class country has found its most authentic spokesman in a generation. He offers up songwriting that reflects both the gritty realities of blue-collar life and the beer-fueled release of the Friday-night honky-tonk. But don’t take our word for it. Check out this CMT Blog gushing about this newbie, stating, “it’s the kind of country music that made me fall in love with country music.”

The Disco Biscuits
Thursday, February 18 7pm Doors $30 plus tax ALL AGES
The Disco Biscuits are an entirely different band today than they were when they first broke out. They are still very much the pioneers of “trance-fusion,” bridging the gap between electronic music and jam bands. They still remain rock pioneers whose soul belongs as much to marathon dance parties as it does to live improvisational journeys. After spending the past three years in the studio — during breaks in touring — they’ve resurfaced with ‘Planet Anthem,’ a CD that is undeniably unlike anything else they’ve ever created before. Hear it in living color at RHL.

w/ Frank Turner, Architects Tuesday, February 23 6pm Doors $ 25 plus tax All Ages

The truth is that it takes all of those things along with a boundless enthusiasm, an infectious energy and a supreme devotion to the fans. This bill brings together two of the most ska-dellic bands around. The Beat formed in 1978 and carved a distinct sound through the use of alternating lead vocals and backed by solid instrumentation. And Fishbone lives up to their legend as "THE" group to bridge the gap between the funk of George Clinton and the blare of Rush; a hybrid fusion where Led Zeppelin and Sly Stone dance to a frenetic ska beat that fuel's the alternative thrust of acts like Red Hot Chili Peppers, Jane's Addiction and No Doubt. Woah!
These two returners to the venue are a non-stop party! Cover Me Badd will do just that and has notches such as opening up for the English Beat. And David Andrew Smith sings from a soulful yet knowing perspective, imbuing each song with an immediate attraction, which leaves, in turn, an indelible impression. After studying music composition and performance at Salisbury University, David migrated from the small-town atmosphere of his youth on the eastern shore of Maryland to the city of Baltimore, where he has since been pursuing his dream. See it come alive on February 25th! Cover Me Badd David Andrew Smith
George Clinton, along with Parliament Funkadelic, revolutionized the R&B scene by blending soul with acid rock, thus creating funk. This music is purely fun, meant to be a party at every stop with a joyous, playful, confident and energetic sound.
The BSM brings us another metal solid show full of locals thrashing, ripping and shredding. Not only do Cryptic and Anubis bring the sound and fury of hardcore metal, they are able to transcend that sound to spout off some semi-hardcore stuff for any music fan. Solid lead guitars for direction as well! Long story short, you are sure to find something you dig with this spectrum of acts. Enjoy $3 Buds, Bud Lights, Rails and $2 Natural Lights.
